Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Transfers Financial Assistance Under Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor Kalyan Yojana*

*Over Rs. 495 Crore Transferred to Bank Accounts of More Than 4.95 Lakh Landless Agricultural Labourers Across the State*

Raipur// Following a joyful Holi celebrated by farmers, this Navratri has brought a renewed sense of prosperity and confidence for landless agricultural labourers in Chhattisgarh. Government schemes under the state’s “people-centric and transparent governance” model are now visibly transforming everyday lives. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted this while addressing a programme organised under the Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor Kalyan Yojana in Balodabazar district on March 25.

During the event held in Balodabazar, Chief Minister Shri Sai transferred Rs. 495.96 crore into the bank accounts of 4,95,965 landless agricultural labourers across the state. He described the initiative as not merely financial assistance but a “decisive step towards dignity, empowerment, and recognition of labour.”

In his address, the Chief Minister stated that the government is fulfilling the guarantees of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with “speed, transparency, and accountability.” He noted that the disbursement of the paddy procurement difference amounts enabled farmers to celebrate Holi with enthusiasm and satisfaction. Similarly, the financial assistance provided to women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana on International Women’s Day have strengthened their resolve for “self-reliance and financial independence.”

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai also symbolically handed over house keys to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He informed that more than 18 lakh houses have been approved in the past two years, marking a significant step towards “housing security and improved quality of life” for thousands of families. 

Recalling the cultural and spiritual heritage of Balodabazar, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Baba Guru Ghasidas, Sant Kabir, and freedom fighter Veer Narayan Singh. He stated that under the Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor Kalyan Yojana, the state government is providing Rs. 10,000 to landless agricultural labourers to meet household needs, support children’s education, and pursue small livelihood activities.

The Chief Minister further stated that the government is procuring paddy at Rs. 3,100 per quintal in line with its commitment to farmers. He highlighted that over Rs. 10,000 crore has been allocated to expand irrigation facilities across the state. In addition, measures such as increased tendupatta collection rates, the revival of the Charan Paduka Yojana, and initiatives such as the Ram Lala Darshan Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana are promoting both “social welfare and cultural empowerment.”

Referring to the Bijli Bill Samadhan Yojana, he stated that special concessions and easy instalment options are being provided to clear pending dues from the COVID period. The scheme will continue till June, with solution camps being organised across the state.

Highlighting overall development, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that Chhattisgarh aims to reach new heights by better utilising its mineral wealth, agricultural, and forest resources. He emphasised that the Bastar region, once affected by Naxalism, is now moving rapidly towards “peace, trust, and accelerated development.” With the resolve of the central government and the courage of security forces, extremism is nearing its end, paving the way for a new era of growth in the region.

During the programme, the Chief Minister also visited departmental stalls and interacted virtually with beneficiaries from five districts to assess the impact of various schemes.

Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, addressing the gathering, said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is setting new development benchmarks. He stated that fulfilling the guarantees of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi within a short span reflects the government’s commitment and efficiency. Referring to schemes such as the Mahtari Vandan Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he noted that housing approvals for 18 lakh low-income families mark a major milestone.

The Revenue Minister emphasised that schemes are being implemented with full transparency and a strict “zero tolerance towards corruption” policy. Direct benefit transfers into beneficiaries’ bank accounts have strengthened both trust and governance efficiency. He extended congratulations and best wishes to all landless agricultural labourers, especially Baiga-Gunia families, for benefiting from the scheme.
