Modern diagnostic facility to benefit over 9 lakh people and patients from neighbouring districts*
*Advanced CT scan services to strengthen healthcare access in Surajpur district*
Raipur/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday virtually inaugurated a 32-slice advanced CT scan facility at the district hospital in Surajpur during Sushasan Tihar. The facility has been established at a cost of nearly Rs 449.99 lakh through the Health and Family Welfare Department, CGMSC and the Chief Minister’s Public Health Transformation Fund (CMPHTF).
Chief Minister Shri Sai said the new facility will strengthen healthcare services in the district and help provide better and timely treatment to people. He described it as an important step towards expanding and improving medical infrastructure in Surajpur.
With the launch of the CT scan facility, nearly 9.11 lakh residents of Surajpur district, along with patients from neighbouring districts, are expected to benefit. The district hospital will now be able to conduct tests related to head injuries from road accidents, brain haemorrhage, blood clotting, cancer, tumours, stroke, chest infections, abdominal diseases and epilepsy.
Earlier, patients had to be referred to Ambikapur for such investigations, causing both financial burden and delays in treatment. With the new facility now operational, patients will no longer need to travel outside the district and CT scans will be available at much lower rates compared to private centres. A 24x7 team of radiologists and trained technicians has also been deployed at the district hospital to ensure uninterrupted and quality services.
