Mass marriage in Chhattisgarh becomes a celebration of social unity, Chief Minister blesses 13 newlywed couples

Raipur, / At a tehsil-level Karma Mahotsav and mass marriage event in Gram Bharar in Durg district, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai blessed 13 newlywed couples, calling the event a symbol of social harmony and tradition.

He announced Rs 50 lakh for a shed construction at Sahu Samaj Bhawan in Patan and Rs 10 lakh for developing toilets, a shed, and a CC road in Gram Bharar to boost local development.

Praising the Sahu community, Shri Sai paid tribute to Mata Karma and late Shri Tarachand Sahu and remembered their contribution for betterment of society. Highlighting achievements of past 28 months, he said the government has advanced good governance and fulfilled “Modi ki Guarantee,” benefiting 18 lakh families under PM Awas Yojana, supporting farmers with bonuses and Rs 3100/quintal paddy procurement, and empowering women through Mahtari Vandan Yojana.

Chief minister said that around 42,000 beneficiaries have visited under Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, highlighted the development work and progress in eliminating Naxalism in Bastar as a key achievement. He also highlighted the Mukhyamantri Bijli Bill Bhugtaan Samadhaan Yojana-2026 with offering major relief to consumers with long-pending dues. Through the “Mor Bijli App,” consumers can register online and check eligibility, with a 100% waiver on interest and surcharge on outstanding bills.

He added that digital services are being expanded through the opening of Atal Digital Centres in villages and improved access to farm inputs through Primary Agriculture Credit Societies.

The event was attended by MP Shri Vijay Baghel, Commissioner Shri Satyanarayan Rathore, Collector Shri Abhijeet Singh, Sahu Community’s District Association President Shri Nandlal Sahu, Telghani Board Chairman Shri Jitendra Sahu, along with several public representatives and citizens.
